Rent A Flock!

Flocking is a general term used to describe putting a display of small "critters" in a persons yard, usually in the middle of the night, to surprise them the next morning. The original displays that were done were flamingos, hence a flamingo "flock", but now many other choices are available depending on the inventory of the companies that service your area. From the classic flamingo, to buzzards, to smiley faces and even local mascots, many choices are available for your lawn display needs. A message sign is usually included with a phrase to coordinate with the critters. This sign is sometimes a simple A-frame, other times it is a large "character" sign or a banner.

Other very popular displays that may be available by Lawn Greeting companies are large Stork or Baby announcement signs, to announce the birth of a new baby to the neighborhood. Since each company is individually owned and operated, sign designs, size, length of rentals, are all decided by the individual owners, and all designs will not be available everywhere.

How does it work?

Then contact them via email, phone or online ordering and request the display you would like reserve and the date you want to reserve it for. If available, the company will help you to choose a message phrase and get all the necessary information they will need to setup the display for you. Additional items may be available to add to a Lawn Greeting display such as additional critters, balloons or T-shirts.

For Storks or Newborn Baby announcement signs, you usually need to give at least 24 hours notice to give the company enough time to create your keepsake (if included) and get the display in the yard before the mom and new baby come home from the hospital. The sign (usually a single large sign, depicting a stork or a baby) will stay on the lawn for anywhere from a couple days up to a week, depending on the rental length desired, and the terms of the individual company. Additional items are sometimes available to add to a newborn display, such as small baby bottles setup around the sign, balloon bouquets, custom candy bar announcements and sibling signs.
